Privacy Policy

Last updated: 11 August 2026

This policy explains how SilkeAI collects, uses, shares and protects personal information when you use this website or apply to the early-access programme. It is written to meet the requirements of the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA).

Who we are

SilkeAI operates this website and the early-access programme, and is the responsible party for the personal information described here. Questions, objections or deletion requests can be sent to us through our LinkedIn page, which is our published contact channel while the product is in development.

What we collect

  • Information you submit in the early-access form: your name, email address, optional phone or WhatsApp number, professional segment, organisation or practice name, practice size and the areas of interest you select.
  • The page you submitted the form from, so we understand which topic prompted your interest.
  • Standard server logs generated when a page is requested (including IP address and browser user agent), retained by our hosting provider for security and reliability purposes.

We do not ask for, and you should not submit, taxpayer information, client files or any other confidential material through this website.

Cookies and tracking

This website sets no cookies and runs no analytics, advertising or third-party tracking scripts. Because we do not track you, no cookie consent banner is required.

Why we use it and on what basis

We process the information you submit to contact you about SilkeAI, to invite you to pilot cohorts, and to send product updates about the platform. We rely on your consent, given when you tick the consent box on the early-access form, and on our legitimate interest in operating and securing the website. You may withdraw consent at any time; withdrawal does not affect processing that already took place.

Who we share it with

We use a small number of operators who process personal information on our behalf under contract: our website hosting provider, and Resend, which delivers the notification email generated by the form. These operators may process data outside South Africa. Where they do, we rely on contractual safeguards requiring a level of protection substantially similar to POPIA, as permitted by section 72. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for advertising.

How long we keep it

We keep early-access enquiries for as long as the programme is running and for up to 24 months after your last interaction with us, after which they are deleted. Server logs are retained for a short operational period by our hosting provider. We delete your information sooner on request.

How we protect it

The site is served over HTTPS, form submissions are handled server-side, and API credentials are held as server-side secrets that are never exposed to your browser. Access to enquiry data is limited to the people who need it to run the programme. If a security compromise affecting your personal information occurs, we will notify you and the Information Regulator as required by section 22 of POPIA.

Your rights

Under POPIA you may ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, object to processing, and withdraw consent to marketing at any time. Every email we send includes a way to opt out. Contact us via LinkedIn and we will respond within a reasonable time and at no charge for a routine request.

You may also lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator (South Africa) at inforegulator.org.za.

Children

This is a professional tool intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children, and we will delete it if we learn we have.

Changes to this policy

We will update this page as the product develops, and we will change the date at the top when we do. Material changes affecting how we use your information will be communicated to early-access members by email.
